International Diploma in Business

The International Diplomas in Business enable individuals to develop theoretical understanding alongside practical ability, of a variety of business disciplines at all levels of the management structure.

The Diplomas are available at Standard and Advanced Levels, and are ideal for anyone wanting to broaden their understanding of business as a whole, or those seeking to develop specific workplace skills.

Each Diploma is comprised of four modules:

• Business Organisation and Environment
• Effective Business Communication
• Marketing
• Human Resource Management

Each module is assessed on a fixed date under examination conditions. A Certificate is awarded for each module. Any number of modules may be sat. After successfully completing four modules an International Diploma is awarded.

Closing dates for examination registration are July 1st and January 21st each year.

Cost:

Course fees: $10,000 per module x 4 modules = $40,000 payable in 4 installments.
Exam fees: $44,000 for the four modules.
Total cost: $84,000

Duration:

For the International Diploma in Business each module is of 20 hours duration.

The Course Fee of $10,000 must be paid in full before sitting examinations whether student attended classes or not. No refund will be given once course has begun.

International Certificate in Finance

The Certificate in Finance in one of the Modules of the International Diploma in Business. It is being offered at the Advanced level. The Certificate in Finance deals specifically with the financial aspect as it relates to various businesses.

Certificate in Finance: 20 hours
Cost: Course fees: $10,000 for the module
Exam fees: $11,000 for the exam
Total cost: $21,000

International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers

The Diploma assesses a candidate?s competence in a range of learning and development activities.

Target group:

The Diploma is intended for teachers/trainers in educational establishments, training organizations and companies. They can be fulltime, or part-time. Their teaching role may be their only responsibility or one of a number of responsibilities they have within their institutions. The Diploma is equally relevant to persons from different subject backgrounds.


Syllabus Overview

Module #1: Design

• specify the requirements for each learning session

Module #2: Practice

• present information
• manage the learning environment
• motivate, guide, encourage and support learners

Module #3: Assessment

• prepare formative and summative assessments
• provide feedback about progress
• maintain records of learners achievement

Module #4: Evaluation

• use evaluation to plan improvements
• evaluate own practice
• identify goals for improvement
• complete a professional development plan

Fees

• Course Fee: G$80,000 for the entire course.
• Exam Fee (payable to Cambridge, UK) $60,000 for all four Modules. Payable on submission of the first module.
• Text book: School of Nations, in collaboration with Cambridge University, has produced four detailed, 240 page, manuals one for each of the four modules: $2,000 for each book.
• CD: the CD contains the assignment templates and additional course material. The CD costs $1000.
Total Cost: $149,000

The Course Fee can be paid in four installments, termly or monthly. If the student prefers, the Diploma can be written over a two year, rather than a nine month period.

The Diploma commences in September of each year.

The teaching staff comprises well-qualified persons in the field of education from Guyana and from overseas.
